Looking back he was/is a top 10 talent, who often struggled to beat top 20-40th ranked men, or very old men. What did he really prove aside from stopping some very weak opponents in his 30 pro fights, and cherry picking the guys who didn't deserve title shots ( People not ranked in the top ten at all ) aside from the much older Ortiz? His resume is pretty thin. I'd like to see him fight younger guys with skills who can punch like Joyce, Hrgovic, Ajagba, or Makhmudov. Any one of those four are better than he faced, aside from Fury. Prove it Wilder, you can't cherry pick anymore.
He proved that if you avoid Wlad and find a fat bum called Stiverne to fight for a belt then you're sorted Then to legitimize yourself you just need to knockout a football hooligan and a pensioner who also has no decent wins on his resume Then you think you're going to secure your legacy by cherry picking Fury who had been out for 3 years and dropped 140 pounds in less than 6 months but it went horribly wrong. LOOOL Wilder has secured his future of mocking and criticism for mocking Fury's mental health and claiming he was anointed by god all whilst crying into his clout chasing wife's lap (this actually happened)
Wilder won the WBC title. Had a five-year reign. Made 10 successful title defenses (including a draw with the current World Champ). Put together the highest KO percentage in heavyweight championship history. And he's fighting the current World champion for the third time in his last five fights, and could very well be the WORLD heavyweight champion himself by the end of this year. But you want him to fight the unranked Makhmudov to prove himself? (LOL) He's fighting the World champ next. That's how you prove yourself. Good luck with your troll thread. It's off to a bad start.
Winner winner! Yes. Being the only good USA heavyweight fighter in the most down era of USA heavyweight boxing helped big time. His management turned a shaky performer and guided him to one of the four world title belts.
I'm not the one who needs the luck here. Fight a younger guy in the way up ( The ones I mentioned ) and he'll be Ko'd again. I'm 90% sure. He's trying to cash out. He should be 0-2 vs Fury anyway, and the last fight was a beat down. I think he wants to cash out while he can. Yes-- One punch good punch from Makhmudov would spell the beginning of the end of the fight. I would give Wilder credit if he fought him and won. NO way his management would dare take that fight. Only one of his title opponents was ranked in the top ten when he fought them and that guys was over 40 years old. He has proven very little.
yeah its a bit of a troll thread I admit,,,,, but not totally, Wilder imo did hijack this title more than other past time trinket champs I can remember. in the old days this didn't happen nearly as bad, as not even close. not hating on Wilder, in truth I find his fights very exciting and would tune in no doubt.
Firstly, Wilder’s resume is very weak for a guy in his position, we can agree on that. However, the names that you’ve mentioned, and prospects of that ilk, would likely be avoided by most top fighters until they can avoid them no more. Dubois, Hrgovic, and Yoka (I know you only mentioned one of them) will be avoided like the plague because they’re all risk (and a serious risk) and no reward. He really should have better names on his resume though.
Wilder doesn’t have a prime win over a puncher then Breazeale . Proved he could punch and doesn’t like money inwards of slave wagers according to him . I’m still going to hold that Hrgovic would have stopped him and Whyte is still an unknown as to who really wins that one. In the end he proved fan boys can stop a lot of important fights from happening, without them Wilder would have fought much better fighters but was able to have a very bad element of fans supporting his way of dodging certain fights .
I noticed certain posters like you on here mock real threats like a Mahkmudov or Hrgovic both standing over 6”5 and serious power ,but let me ask you this . Who do you think is a harder title fight for him Stiverne and Washington or those two guys mentioned ? Can you answer that ? Because if you can ,you know you can’t actually mock those guys and laugh it of .
He proved what a fight changer a huge punch from a guy his size can really do, and how it can allow a fighter with somewhat limited boxing technique (compared to his contemporaries) to get this far as a pro. He'll have had a successful career one could say.
I agree with this but that also came with some luck because Wilder was saved by the bell twice in his career and a puncher is really only proven his worth against other punchers ,depending where you place Ortiz is where you would actually rate Wilder , that’s the only guy he was hit solid by who is a known puncher , we know how Fury fight went to.
