Totally agree. Im a married man but if i had the attitude of my pal my old mum and dad would still belt me. Suppose i was lucky in i seen both my parents graft to put food on the table.
It's not even just grafting moog. It's also having a bit of personal pride in yourself and that you actually contribute to something. Don't get me wrong, I can be a lazy bugger at home. It drives my missus up the wall lol but I've worked ever since I was 16 (34 now) and pretty much all my family have been involved in services one way or another.
Eh Day has confirmed our offer still stands mate so we watch for the price of a London marathon ticket as normal.
I signed on and did side hustles from 19 to about 21. Then the job centre put me on a course with 50 year old burned out crackheads/long term dole claimers and it scared me into getting a job within a couple of weeks lol. I think I lasted one day on that course, was a great motivator tbf, seeing all those dead beats and realising I don't want to end up like that.
Im same mate. I have took this year off to look after our two pre school kids as my wifes training to be a teacher and i must say its a culture shock to my routine. So much so i started doing an MBA alongside being a house husband as my brains always been active with work. Works easier than being a house husband though.
It still means something to some fans but many fans have been turned off now and refuse to go. The club belongs to day trippers who go once a season spending hundreds in the club shop. There’s just no soul in it. All clubs prefer money over fans and LFC has the cheek to call us customers. They then do things like furlough staff whilst the players are on 100% still. Whilst ramming it down people’s throats about the ‘LFC family’. There’s a far less affluent club a few hundred metres away that refused to stoop so low and in the main is way more in touch with real people. When you go to the game, you’re surrounded by selfie taking gobshites more interested in cuddling their bird or talking shite, telling people to stop swearing or to sit down rather than support the team. I could go on all day about reasons but it’s boring. Fair play to the ones who still enjoy it but I go to non league when I can now.
Sounds like the same as a young boxther in the gym, watching Haye preparing for the Bellew fights, disgusted that a washed up conman in his mid thirties is raking in a fortune from public PPV money
Where many get sick of it is when they’re working hard and still can’t afford to do anything good. That’s when people think, what’s the ****ing point. I don’t blame them. If you had a lifestyle like Moog’s pal (not being a slob) exercising and chilling. He will probably live a longer happier life than the grafters and hasn’t wasted it working making other people money whilst being under appreciated and under paid. I don’t live like that but I can see why many do. It’s a dilemma but that dilemma should be taken away from people by a country who doesn’t make it so easy for them.
I still can’t believe how modern football fans are expected to pay 40 quid a year for the privilege of getting into an online free for all fight with no guarantees of any ticket all season. Imagine paying to get into Tesco and coming out with nothing you need haha. It’s crazy. I am just old enough to remember the days of getting to the stadium at 4am to queue up for your tickets.
Far too many tourists in the ground these days with ticket touts having thousands of season tickets - these fooks make their fortune as plenty of rich tourists are lining up to pay between £200 and £1k depending on match. Incredible money for people with no conscience.
There needs to be some kind of re dress, I'm in a skilled job full time, my Mrs does part time hours and childcare, we have 2 little ones and its hard to make ends meet! Hopefully this whole event balances these issues out but we will wait and see. Keep the poor, poor the bug wigs say!
Ha that's true mate, but the thing is our whole economic model is based on people constantly consuming, even consuming things they cant really afford or don't need. Its madness
