I don't give a **** if you leave or not you not hurting my feelings. Yeah he's the same guy his level of comp has gotten worse since fought pbf those are facts. So of course he will look better against lesser competition. Guys like ggg and jacobs are 100000 light years below pbf who was 36 faded and outsized. These 2 lost to a smaller man because they're no where as good as pbf. He looks like he's better now but he's actually not he's basically the same guy. If that pbf who beat him was still around you'd see the exact same fight as you saw back in 2013.
After seeing Pimp be criticized for arguing that Canelo is pretty much the same fighter he was vs GGG that he was when he fought Mayweather, I think this is an interesting point worth exploring. And the reason why I say this is because the whole narrative that was created as a result of when Canelo fought Mayweather is actually part of the exaggeration as it pertains to what happened there. The whole narrative was that Floyd schooled Canelo and Canelo learned from being schooled by Floyd and became a better fighter. So we have 2 parts to this story. First the part about Floyd schooling Canelo then the part about how the schooling made Canelo better. This narrative, this "story" was created basically to make Floyd look good, to argue that Canelo's success was due to Floyd schooling him or something. And I agree with Pimp in the sense that he doesn't agree with at least one part of that. He may act like Floyd schooled Canelo but he doesn't seem to believe that it made Canelo any better which was part of that story that took hold and caused people to believe a myth which was that Floyd schooled him to begin with. There's an argument that many people believe that Canelo only became so great after fighting Mayweather. But the signs were there before he fought Mayweather. And this whole myth is like one big brainwashing that I'm trying to wake people up from. And this is why people try to argue that Trout was robbed vs Canelo or something, they do this to basically perpetuate this belief that Canelo was nothing before he fought Mayweather and only become good after getting schooled. Canelo knocked down Trout and beat him in impressive fashion. Yes the open scoring there was annoying but there was no real argument to Trout actually winning the bout. And anyone who argues that is basically under some kind of a brainwashing as it relates to this narrative about Canelo being schooled by Mayweather not being great before that and like becoming a better fighter after being schooled and all this nonsense. Now there might be some truth to Canelo getting better after fighting Floyd, but even if that's true, that's been exaggerated to such a ridiculous extent that Pimp basically taking it back to Canelo being about as good as he was back then than he is now, well I'm not sure I agree with that totally, but I do see Pimp believing that as a breath of fresh air rather than the usual Canelo got schooled then learned from being schooled and getting better shenanigans.
Yo @Pimp C gotta disagree with you Canelo has shown vast improvements since the Mayweather fight but really it started from the Mosley fight on, sometimes it’s the subtle things like feinting more, or tightening up defense, while he doesn’t full on shoulder roll his fluidity has vastly improved, his adjustments, and learning when and where to focus his attacks. Gotta give the kid credit Canelo is the best fighter in boxing since Mayweather retired.
Only some idiots with no credibility think that Canelo hasnt improved since the Floyd fight. Most are Floyd groupies who think that fighters were at their peak just one time in their careers and thats when they fought Floyd.
Sorry, Pimp, but you are going too far to defend Floyd here. It's ok, Floyd wasn't prime when he fought Canelo and he was smaller (catchweight though). You don't have to go as far as say that Canelo is exactly the same guy to defend his win.
It's bordering delusion to even suggest Canelo has not gotten better. I find it odd that Pimp C is so adamant to be against the notion canelo improved.
Pbf is a A+ fighter canelo is a A to A- ggg is a B+ to B fighter jacobs is a B to B- level fighter. When you go from fighting a A+ fighter like pbf to B level fighters like ggg and jacobs naturally you will look better that's a fact. I dont think he's really any better he's not fighting pbf anymore that's the how i see it and the reason why they think he looks better. Like i said if pbf that fought canelo could fight the same canelo who beat ggg, pbf would still beat him. Pbf would still expose the same flaws that were always there. I see no major improvement in canelo he's always been a good all around fighter with stamina fighting in spurts and slow feet always being a weakness. Pbf can exploit these weaknesses unlike other lesser level fighters.
Dude this is a bad take, I think you know it is too. Take Floyd out of this for a moment. The improvements Canleo has made since then - and since other fights since the - are very noticeable. You cannot tell me someone hasn't improved as a boxer since they were 23. You might find the odd exception but this isn't it. Physically he has improved for a start but technically too. Even since the Cotto fight his offensive footwork has improved quite a lot. He's always been a very good counter punch but even so his head movement has gotten better too. Yes even this prime version of Canelo would have lost to Floyd but to say he hasn't improved at all, I think that's a bit much and if you were talking about this with less belligerent posters involved you'd probably say the same.
Guys, Pimp C is just boosting Floyd's win because Floyd is his god. If Floyd pissed in his cornflakes, he'd ask for seconds (after some IVs). I've never seen someone defend the Floyd to the point of challenging someone to meet up and fight.
There was some Floyd fan here about 10 years ago, got very pissed off at me. He wanted to fight me, so he claimed he bought a ticket to Alaska, tried to contact me via DM, and I never responded. I **** you not. Floyd fanatics are nutz...
