i got surprised, Foreman looks much taller. i knew that he was, but not that big difference. He looks clearly the bigger guy and he was 19. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DcNxDEeW4AEB4WJ.jpg
I believe they used to spar together, but according to Muhammad Ali, George idolized Sonny. I remember reading that before his fights in Las Vegas that Mike Tyson would pay homage to Liston's grave. I suppose that they both respected The Big Ugly Bear, Sonny Liston.
I don’t know maybe the idea was to big up the Olympic champion you know hype him up a bit as the next big thing, making him out to be bigger than he is. the new monster on the block. Makes a good story. It happens.
Google Foreman and Liston there’s a few pictures of them together and yes George is bigger but not too the same extent as your photo.
Yeah i think that the angle of the photo could make the SIZE difference looks bigger than it actually was but i am sure that Foreman was not on a step here so no excuse for the HEIGHT difference
Angles bro. Liston looks way bigger here. https://qph.fs.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-ffdb4255e99eaf5465283ee85b404347
You must to Take in count that these photos were made when Liston was overweight close to his 40s and Foreman was 19 years old, Liston did not look way bigger at all because he was not, George was clearly drained here and sonny inflated like a beach ball, even being slim still George had the bigger frame. Sonny was heavier here than his prime weight being in shape and george was a boy.
His prime weight was like 210--215. Post Ali he usually weighed in at about 220. 5 lbs isn't enough to consider someone inflated like a beach ball imo. Foreman weighed 225-230 as an amateur then cut back about 10 lbs when he started his pro career.
