Seems to be the case with most of these articles. Very few want to give the guys they lost to any credit
I doubt he respects much about maidana it was a rough fight but he was fouling the entire time and Floyd was way past his best at that point. That'd be like Ali calling Leon spinks one of his best opponents
Floyd was like a spoiled little girl in that fight. He was constantly bitching to Weekes about Maidana roughing him up. He was used to Joe Cortez protecting him But Kenny Bayless became his Mother Hen in the rematch & never gave Maidana a chance to fight
It could be that he felt 147 way above his prime weight, and it was. Usually fighters who come up in weight and succeed at 147 start no less than SFW (Pac being an exception with avoiding random testing and all). I also think JMM like most Mexicans is extremely macho and prideful and won't ever give full credit to his contemporaries. Just like Barrera was hating on JMM, Morales on Barrera, JMM on Canelo. Mexicans are bred to be alpha dominant tough muther ****ers, and rarely give credit to other fighters unless it benefits them.
What about the Floyd fight where Pac took Floyd's rigged testing and Floyd said it was the hardest he'd ever been hit? Or all the VADA fights in which Pac dropped/hurt his younger, bigger, and stronger opponents?
Yeah but Lance is not smart enough to see what I'm talking about ? If Marquez is choosing fighters from 135 and under its for a reason...
He (from memory), came into the Money fight fat, having not fought at that weight before, and after a period of inactivity. Probably is a bit bitter about it, and let's face it, Floyd, for all his skills, is a dick, so he probably didn't want to stroke his ego in any way.
If there was a category for biggest then 5'8" 72 inch reach Maywrather may have been been slotted in that department.
Uses every question as an excuse to boast. Best defence. Pacquiao...until i landed the right hand that slept him. Loved him as a fighter but always had sour grapes, clearly had a physical transformation for Pac 4, and reminds me of the mexican version of Froch in retirement with the way he goes on.
I think he means that for a guy as offensive as Pac was, he didn't take a ton of shots. And Pac is quite slippery. The proof is in the fact that he shut out Oscar, Mosley, Rios, Vargas, Clottey, Algieri, Matthysse, Hatton, and Broner while being very offensive and barely getting hit. That's close to NINETY ROUNDS OF DOMINANCE. Pac can be hit, but it's a very perilous task. His defense is highly underrated.
