Maybe I'm missing something. Mod-mania can tell us. I agree with you look at the fights. Mozon could not handle speed well, and was lucky not to fight many punchers or quick handed opponent his size.
Agreed. He obviously did the business, but he's basic to look at. Nunn looked a thousand times more impressive.
Why at will? Nunn was sloppy but faster than all of Monzon`s opponents, he would have countered Monzon`s right hand pretty well.
One helluva smart post! One of the most perceptive posts I've ever read on Nunn, in fact - and I've read hundreds. Big Nunn admirer here (even own a M Nunn t shirt) but, like yourself, and for the same reasons, I don't see him beating Monzon. Monzon's intelligence, steadiness, will to win, and phenomenal stamina make the difference here. Monzon is one of the greatest Bosses in boxing history.
Peak Nunn is one of the most athletically gifted boxers I've ever seen and I think he is much tougher than he is often given credit for. I can definitely see him winning rounds against Monzon. Don't think he would beat a peak Monzon, though. Don't think any middleweight of the past 50 years would beat a peak King Carlos.
Monzon`s feet were too slow, Nunn`s hands were quicker too plus Monzon ate a lot of counter jabs, I feel Nunn would out-point him.
