How do you think boxing PPVs would do now?

Depends on who is fighting. A Joshua-Fury one may sell more than 2-3 million.

Truth is MMA guys are much better at promoting their sport. I am a fan of both sports but I am a bigger boxing fan. Yet I can't deny that MMA does a better job at self promotion.

Welp that pretty much confirms that any decent matchup this year is going PPV in boxing..

Might that have anything to do with a total sports drought?

MMA / UFC has a much more loyal fan base. I am on some of their Facebook pages and they firmly back their guys even if they have big losing records (Masdival) or are totally over rated (McGregor).

These people just want to be entertained; to see blood, guts and tears.

MMA, especially the UFC, blows any boxing promotion out of the water when it comes to promotion. I don't even really like the sport but find myself salivating when I see one of their promos.

Boxing truly sucks when it comes to this aspect.

DAZN is a huge question mark right now.. They invested $500 million in Canelo vs GGG 3 being big for them but with no other content and a huge loss in subscriptions they’re gonna have to give premium fights immediately to get those subs back

I don't follow MMA, but as near as I can tell, UFC actually puts together good matches where the best fight the best.

I look at the handful of big name UFC fighters who I know, and they ****ing all fought each other already.

That never happens in boxing. Here these assholes always have to let all the big fights "marinate" for like a goddamn decade.

How long did we wait for fights between AJ, Wilder, and Fury? For Mayweather and Pac? For GGG, BJS, and Canelo? I'm making myself angry just thinking about this.

As a boxing fan the initial idea of DAZN was great monthly boxing subscription for $9.99. But if you’re an investor and you guaranteed Canelo, AJ and GGG almost $700 million alone at what point do you expect to turn a profit. Hence going up to $19.99 and now who knows what when it returns. I honestly see them having some form of PPV pricing for the months Canelo fights. As fans we’ll always get screwed in the end whether it’s ESPN, Fox or DAZN..

Yeah we were only grandfathered in for this year but after that everybody goes up to $19.99 or $99.99 annually
