A Bowe training video would be incredibly depressing. I imagine he looks further gone than Holyfield and Tyson. Seems like these old timer exhibitions may very well happen, though, like you said.
Tyson was AT LEAST past his best 18 years ago (Lewis fight), and has been downright shot for 16 years. Hell, he might have been shot to bits even earlier, but I’m being generous since he did beat a string of opponents by KO between fighting Holyfield and Lewis. Holyfield looks even worse than Tyson now, although he put on a spirited effort against Valuev more recently... 12 years ago... These numbers are not something you just overcome guys, it’s a lifetime in this sport. In any physical sport even. They cannot turn back the clock, no matter how much gear they are allowed to inject into their system. Let them fight each other in four rounders for charity, or bust up some minor celebrity with headgear on, fine by me. But they should not be allowed in the ring with ANY active HW, let alone anyone near the top!
Are some of you that mad to think he's coming back and fighting at the top level lol ? He's getting in shape to do some exhibition bouts.
He Is Fighting An Exhibition Keep repeating it until you understand that. Then google what an exhibition means.
I think this is where you can safely say Holyfield would not be able to beat Tyson 100/100 times whatever the circumstance. The man looks 80 in that clip. I’ll take Tyson in the “Battle of the centurions”
I’m not sure. Tyson’s trouble came when an opponent wasn’t intimidated and hit him back. He was a three round fighter by the end of his career. Tyson will be lucky if that’s 3 minutes now.
difficult to say I guess, they are both ancient, but Tyson is that bit younger. It’s a big ask to think a pushing 60 Holyfield has anything at all in the bank now. I wouldn’t even want to see this as an exhibition.
I'd be genuinely semi-interested in seeing him fight prime-aged opponents but focusing on celebrities, athletes from other sports, that sort of thing. This'd be more interesting IMO than him taking on another vet boxer. It really ought to go without saying, but just in case I'll be yet another person to agree that taking on an active pro heavyweight, even on the very, very bottom rung of the ladder [unless i suppose **possibly** something ridiculous like a single round catchweight contest], will never be an option.
As a huge Tyson fan, I would not want him to see in the ring again. Just be happy as a retired legend, keep doing your podcasts, guest appearances, weed farms etc. Anything, but actually fighting again, it ain't worth it.
He doesn't need anything, all he has to do is take Tyson's shots and hit him back. Tyson will soon fold like a deckchair.
