Given Wilder isn't making more than $15m for another rematch, $10m to not fight is worth it...and he can fight and knockout a bum for $5m in the downtime.
Wilder is 34. He probably has a better shot beating them without downtime. Time is the enemy. I'm not sure Wilder will be persuaded. This isn't Golovkin selling his prime to Cotto for $800k though. I'd understand taking it.
there were other sources aswell I just chose that one for no particular reason https://metro.co.uk/2020/05/13/deontay-wilder-makes-demands-step-aside-tyson-fury-vs-anthony-joshua-12698216/
Idk if you read my post but the original article doesn't state Wilder made this demand. It's an offer to him. Allegedly. It's being mischaracterized. Probably to put pressure on him to accept it.
my sources claim he is the one who asked for $10 million but who knows a lot of people want to appear to know more then they do also I read every post unless I have you on ignore but you seem cool
I will be shocked if he accepts it. Happily shocked. He knows it will make him look like a coward (not that he is, no boxers are ffs) to the idiot fans, he talked so much crap about legacy and comparing himself to past champs, stepping aside would be a tough pill for his ego to swallow I would think? Then again maybe he has finally done some soul searching since the loss and he is trying to accept reality for the first time in a long while? Plenty for him to be proud of, only thing he will have to deal with is all his past time BS coming back on him and there was a lot.
This. I have a hard time believing this knowing how stubborn a person Wilder is. Until Wilder and his people confirm any of this its still just speculation.
"Depending on their drafting, such clauses may have a variety of consequences, including: excusing the affected party from performing the contract in whole or in part; excusing that party from delay in performance, entitling them to suspend or claim an extension of time for performance; or giving that party a right to terminate." https://www.pinsentmasons.com/out-law/guides/covid-19-force-majeure-clause Seems as clear as mud...
If he gets a shot at the winner it’s a no brainier in my opinion for Wilder. If Fury wins, it makes Wolder vs Fury 3 bigger. If Joshua wins, it makes a fight we’ve all wanted to see come to fruition, which will also be massive.
I have a hard time believing Wilder would do something that actually helps the game of boxing. maybe the beating he got took a few months to fully effect him?
