Ali had some good ones with Liston, Chuvalo I, Terrell, and Frazier. I think my all time favorite staredown is probably split between Hearns-Benitez and Foreman-Lyle-that one was nose-to-nose. Leonard-Benitez is pretty good too.
Rios and Bradley was memorable. Too bad the fight wasn't. Keith Thurman usually looked intense in his stare downs. Miguel Cotto and Sergio Martinez had seriously bad blood and the 24/7 was a nail biter. Dillian Whyte and Chisora.
Naseem Hamed vs. Kevin Kelley Michael Dokes vs. Razor Ruddock Both of these start before they are nose-to-nose ... in Hamed’s case from the moment he somersaults into the ring.
Some interesting examples in this persons video. The Leonard Benitez stare-down often catches my attention more than others, that was intense focus by those two. This content is protected
Lewis-Golota was a great staredown, but you could tell that Golota's intense look was a front and he looked intimidated. Lewis, on the other hand, had murder in his eyes. I think it hit Golota in that moment that he wasnt in with a shot Bowe this time.
That's probably the most iconic. The look George gave Frazier would have had soft ass Wilder putting his 30 pound suit right back on and hopping out the ring.
GEORGE claims that he was terrified during that stare down. He also claims that he was nervous that smokin Joe would look down and see his knees shaking. Not sure I buy it.
Holyfield Tyson 2 I like Iron Mike (his prime quite a bit in fact), but he got bitched off hard. Holyfield looked like an executioner. To me the fight was over after that.
I thought the same ... Mike was clearly intimidated. At that moment I was sure that he was already mentally defeated ...
To be fair, Mike was past it...but Holyfield was at least as much. Holy was also several years older.
Yes, when I read Foreman said his knees were shaking, I had to laugh. Maybe they vibrating with excitement at the punishment he was about to inflict
