I am in total ignorance when it comes to 80s flyweight fights, so I will really need some help on this one.

This. Watch his series with Gilberto Roman especially.

I'd also recommend all of Chang's career, and Yuh (even tho they were 108, both fought guys who became high rated 112s or champs).

And Yuh vs DeMarco is an ATG war.

Fidel Bassa v Dave McCauley 1 from 1987 is a tremendous fight.

The first fight between Fidel Bassa and Dave McAuley is arguably the greatest Flyweight title fight of any decade, never mind just the eighties. Check it out if you haven't already, you won't regret it.

Bassa's draw with Hilario Zapata wasn't bad at all either, and while Laciar's fights with Roman have already been mentioned, I'd also recommend his (Laciar's) points win over Zapata. Frank Cedeno against Charlie Magri was pretty good while it lasted, as well.

I think Bassa vs. McCauley is on the list.

Keep in mind, none of the fights have to be worthy of FOTY, just underrated good fights worth watching.

Charli Magri vs Eloncio Mercedes, Frank Cedeno, Sot Chitalada
Peter Mathebula vs Tae Shik Kim
    Gabriel Bernal vs Antoine Montero
    Santos Laciar vs Antoine Montero

(Bold are must watch in my opinion)

It was a ridiculously amazing slugfest for sure, flyweight sure does produce plenty of ATG Bangers
