How would Moore handle a hard hitting south paw?

Moorer would have stood a better chance against Moore at heavyweight, was a lot easier to hit than Moore at light heavy plus he had a weaker chin and Moore was an amazing finisher, Frankie Swindell had Moorer in bad trouble at light heavy.

He'd outbox Stevenson, but Moorer would outpoint him

A better chance? Archie moore never did beat anybody even close to holyfield at hw. Moorer wins. Michael moorer was natutally a bigger guy too.

idk about Stevenson, but Moore was a genius, and I think he would beat Moorer by late knockout. I think Moorer gives Archie a fight similar to the one that Harold Johnson gave Moore

How old is Moore? Moore from the late 40's to around 1953 was a bad dude, who I'd favor over either, but by 1954 Moore aged badly and his conditioning wasn't there anymore. Moore still has a chance of outfoxing both Stevenson and Moorer even post 1955, but I wouldn't put money on it.

Holyfield fought terrible fight against Moorer, I don't see why Moore wouldn't be able to beat that version of Evander.

Moore was the baddest light heavy till '58, and a fairly bad heavy during those years too

Hey, Holyfield's great. Moorer's not such a bad guy either.

I would favor Moore against both. But anyone who hit like those two guys did would always have a chance against anybody

I think that's why he's saying Moorer stands a better chance at hw against Moore than at lhw.

After taking a closer look at Moore's resume I really don't understand why his juice plummets when people compare him against heavys as opposed to lhws. Unless I'm mistaken, and if I am please correct me, he only lost once to any heavy prior to Marciano and he weighed in as a middleweight against the great Jimmy Bivins. Hardly anything to be ashamed of.

His heavyweight resume isn't littered with great names but its incredibly foolish to think that an atg with out of this world skill and longevity doesn't possess nearly the same amount of effectiveness and capabilities when fighting 10-15 lbs heavier when they have shown it on many many occasions.

I'll take Moore over both at lhw. Probably by knockout. Moorer would love a shootout but imo that benefits Moore more than it does Moorer.
