Yes it's awfu and to be honest it encapsulates the entire lack of any creativity or finesse that is Anthony Joshua, the stiff fabricated robot.

He just came off a conveyor belt and so did his name, fitting

Not saying it's not a bit lame, but it's clearly worked really well for him.

Its short, casual, easily recalled, good shorthand, has really helped him build his 'brand ' in my view.

‘Bronze Bomber’ is very ****. Who glorifies winning a Bronze medal that much that they add it into their ring name? Also it’s total ripoff of Joe Louis’s ‘Brown Bomber’ as well.

 

AJ probably didn’t care much for a dramatic ring name so just choose to keep it plain and simple and use his own personal nickname all his friends and family have been calling him for years. Not a big deal.
