How would Wilder Povetkin have went down if they had actually fought back in 2016?

I’m fairly confident Povetkin would have sparked him clean out with an over hand right or powerful hook. Styles all wrong for him and Wilder has terrible defence and isn’t very durable and doesn’t have a good chin. I think the fact that Povetkin is smaller, has good head movement and can close the distance very quickly and land flush powerful shots on his opponents he would have been a stylistic nightmare for Wilder.

Wilder has the reach and power advantage of course but I don’t think Wilder is a good enough boxer to keep Povetkin at bay with the jab and I don’t think he’d land a flush straight right before he was taken out given the fact that he struggled with D level heavyweights like Spzilka and took him into the championship rounds.

I think Wilder and his team were probably the most relieved people in the world after that fight fell through.

Hard to see Povetkin not being floored earlier than AJ stopped him, after giving Wilder fits for maybe four to five rounds.

I think if anyone is getting floored it’s Wilder. Leaky ass guard, terrible footwork and zero inside game. He’s also way less durable than Joshua so wouldn’t have taken the shots Povetkin would land as well as AJ did.

Povetkin from Perez and Duhaupas fights wins by KO. The versions after that, Wilder wins by late KO, while being behlnd on the scorecards.

50/50. Povetkin even in 2016 was still a couple years past his best and almost 40 years old, so he still had a good chance of tiring out and getting stopped by Wilder in the later rounds.

A major reason why he degraded during the AJ fight was because the body shots AJ was landing. He was jabbing away at his body with stiff jabs every round. Wilder isn’t technical enough to do that. I think Povetkin’s stamina would still have held up well even at 36.

Povetkin is a little bit too be chinny for the bronze bomber. Deontay stops him Clubber lang style in 2.

Povetkin probably walks through Wilder and demolishes him within 3 rounds. He's not one level above Wilder. He's several levels of skill above Wilder. He hits so much harder than Tyson Fury that he would blow Wilder away much earlier.

Povetkin ain’t chinny in the slightest. He’s more durable and tougher than Wilder who was being put on Bambi legs just from Fury’s stiff jabs.
