I feel the same. Duran just wasn't the same guy at 160. With that said, he was still capable of competing at a high level at 160 as he showed against Hagler and Barkley. With that said, Monzon would be too much.
Hagler didn't KO Duran, Monzon wouldn't either. But he would go on to win a dec victory. But I wouldn't count Duran out, because he was simply a much better fighter.
Monzon by KO in no later than 5 rounds. He didn't have the weak psyche that Marvin had, and right away, Roberto would realize he made a HUGE mistake getting in the ring with Carlos.
Duran was, is and forever will be the more aesthetically pleasing of the two, and in every way, the more beloved and sentimental fan favorite...but in a H2H encounter,...in any way you want to slice it,....Monzon would destroy Duran. He would do to the best middleweight version of Duran, what William Joppy did to him at the end of his career....only within 5 rounds and at least one knockdown. No lapses or confusion in strategy, no undue over-respect from Carlos....just a merciless beating, after a customary slow start....and I agree with Titan1 in that Roberto would be in for a terrible, rude awakening in this fight, and realize what a mistake it was.
It's asking too much ,, Duran's defensive skill would allow him to hear the cards in a loss about the same as to Hagler, around 145-141
