When boxing resumes I can't wait to see more of this kid. I love watching him fight, I love his style, he is very skilled and technically proficient, he's just a joy to watch. He's the type of guy you can tell is throwing heat before the punch even lands, and when it does land........CRACK***** He's a very sharp, precise, and accurate puncher. He's a stone cold sniper and he is going to turn a lot of heads and surprise a lot of people.

He's very good and is looking stronger and more powerful since joining the Ingle Gym. It's amazing how stronger he is since joining Dangerous Dom. Amazing.

Did I mention how much more powerful he's looking?

I’ve heard there’s been talks of him calling out Andrade and Eubank. I think they would both beat him rather comfortably. Andrade by wide UD and Eubank would be too tough for him and would stop him I reckon.

It's a myth that he's suddenly become a puncher since hooking up with Ingle

The only fighter to last the distance against him in his last 16 fights (since 2013) is Liam Smith.

He stopped all these teak tough fighters prior to moving to the Ingle gym.

Darryl Sharp has only been stopped once in 78 fights, by Williams.

A poster on here who knows Sharp said he told them this

''I know Darryl Sharp personally he has been in with some good fighters and he said the power and the accuracy of Williams was something else, something he never experienced in sparring or fighting and he has sparred big light heavyweights!''

Dan Blackwell has only been stopped once in 76 fights, guess who by?

Williams is also the only fighter to stop the very durable (22-6) Kris Carslaw who he sparked out in 2 with a jab. Carslaw lasted the 12 round distance against the excellent Michel Soro who is a very spiteful puncher and is 13-1-1 (12) in his last 15 fights and Carslaw gave him a tough nights work too. Carslaw's also a former world kickboxing champion and, as said, Williams dropped him flat on his face and knocked him out with jab. You'll be hard pressed to find another fight where a fighter was KO'd in this fashion with a jab, especially a durable one.

Here's what Carslaw had to say about his power

'KRIS CARSLAW, the Paisley boxer, was floored for the first time in his career at the weekend when he failed in his attempt to make history by becoming the first Scot to win the British title in the super-welterweight category.

The 31-year-old joiner was stopped by Welshman Liam Williams ten seconds into the second round of their championship bout at Manchester’s MEN Arena.

But Carslaw’s manager, Tommy Gilmour was quick to defend his fighter after describing Williams as a “beast of a man” and a potential future world champion.

Such is 23-year-old Williams’ punching power that Carslaw could not even recall details of his early stoppage and he was ultimately forced to watch a recording of the bout on You Tube to familiarise himself with what had happened.

Carslaw, who was also targeting Williams’ Commonwealth crown, was initially sent crashing to the canvas for the first time in 28 contests by a blow to the temple in the opening round.

But he confessed: “I could not remember the second round. I thought I had recovered from my first round knock-down after taking the eight count but obviously I had not.

“I’m just glad that I’m alright because Williams is a bit special. I have been in against a few good ones like Michel Soro for the European title, but none of them could punch like this guy.

“I think he will go on to win the world title and I would imagine that the current champion, Liam Smith will be keen to avoid him.”

He added: “It was always going to be a tough battle, but Williams is exceptional to the extent that I would not be at all surprised if he goes on to become a world champion.

“Williams also has talent. It would not have mattered what Kris did in terms of his preparations, because that would not have changed anything.

“Colin and his team did a great job ensuring that he was in excellent shape fitness and conditioning-wise and there is nobody with a better chin or anyone braver.

“It’s also a measure of Williams’ power that Kris could not recall clearly what happened in the second round. He gave it his best shot, but I knew I was watching a touch of class; someone special who was just too good for him.”

And he Williams almost quit the sport because he's suffered from terrible problems with his hands. Hence the long spell of inactivity

'A hand operation in 2014 nearly cut short his career and he points out that his hands in their current state would have "retired most people to start with".

"It's not so bad now but going back 18 months ago, it was a hard job for me to make the gym even every other day. "I always train twice a day. I physically couldn't punch. I couldn't even tap the bag, it was so bad."

"With the hand operations in 2014 and having a bit of time out of the ring afterwards, that really hit me hard. "If I don't fight, then I don't earn money. I couldn't fight for 13 months. So it was difficult.

Surely, you are high while posting this? I will admit, Andrade may be too slick for Williams ( I highly doubt it but its not unreasonable to think Demetrius could win) but Eubank Jr? FFS!

He will be the Andrade's toughest opponent in a long time.

The problem with Williams (besides the Cotto tattoo) is the fact he has a shadow hanging over him, and that's the second Smith fight. From his own comments, it sounded like he went through the motions and didn't really care about losing. For a fighter in his prime to behave like that is very strange, as all should be desperately competitive in the ring if they are champion material psychologically and WIlliams should have been desperate to avenge the first fight where he was robbed of victory by a headbutt, bad referee, corner/doctor mixup or whatever.

Maybe that will never happen again, but you have to wonder whether there was some truth to what Smith was taunting him with, that when faced with adversity he doesn't quite have it. This is a feature of sport where many athletes with great skill don't have the mental toughness needed to dominate.

And so when you think of Williams facing a guy like Eubank, for example, that's where the mental side could be a problem and he could let a lot of people down. He's a better boxer than Eubank, but Eubank is delusional level competitive and what if that poses problems for Williams if the going gets tough. See, if you look at BJS, he wasn't too motivated to fight Eubank and others but still seemed to fight his heart out no matter his condition etc. I couldn't see BJS lose to Eubank with a headbutt cut, or in any fashion, then not show up the next fight to avenge the loss. So I think Williams has a bit to prove mentally still if you're talking about him being a true force in the division.

What’s happening with this lad. He was progressing superbly before this rubbish happened. He was becoming very exciting to watch and was looking like a bit of a beast. There’s so many good fights for him, especially as he’s adamant he can make 154 and 160. Why has it all gone so quiet?

I believe he was either mandatory or number 1 with the WBO waiting to fight Andrade. I believe Andrade will move up to 168 to fight BJS, and so the vacant title should be ordered between Williams and Munguia.
