Bob Arum reportedly changed Loma's guaranteed fee for Lopez fight in 4 times due to economican crisis, so Loma doesn't want that fight now. He wants to wait until boxing economy will be back

Bob's cut will probably take less of a reduction than his fighters I'm betting. One of, if not Top ranks biggest star too.

    Interesting.

I hope some of these fighters, particularly the older ones on the "back nine," realize that reduced purses are better than no purses.

Until things go back to pre COVID 19 w/ packed arenas, no one's making the money they used to make. Loma, and everyone else, need to recognize that the market has changed.

Not surprising that big fights won't get made without a gate. That's how a lot of promoters eat. Expect mismatches and a lack of superstars in general. Maybe Bob can put on something like Shakur vs Navarette. That'd be something at least.

Not a good sign. Another example of how the UFC's structure is far superior to boxing. I say that, and can't stand the UFC.

Who has he got to fight? No ones getting paid pre Covid money unless it’s a mega fight a la AJ vs Fury or something similar.

All boxers need to accept the new normal. We're not going to have any big stadium fights until at least next year.

They're all going to get a pay cut if they're fighting this year. Any big fight taking place in 2020 would be a bit of a miracle in all honesty.

It's sad to see all of them sitting on the shelve and let their prime years pass them by.

Correct but UFCs superior structure is due to how low they pay even the elite fighters.. UFC had #2 vs #3 LW and a deep undercard with maybe their most popular HW and I can bet the total for all fighter purses was no more than $1.5 million.. Top Rank have contracts that guarantee an elite fighter at least $2 million alone.. So if they have roughly the same budget Dana’s able put his best fighters available in competitive matches on 1 PPV card totaling $1.5 in purse expenses while selling 750k bus.. Bob on the other hand can’t secure an elite fight on paper because the main even alone would cost him almost $3 million minimum and there is no guarantee it would sell on PPV..

    Eh.

Loma is already getting old and doesn't have much time -- particularly considering his style -- but things will probably be back to normal within a six months.

No ****ing way in hell things will go back to normal in six months. They're anticipating surges in the fall/winter.
