All Time Greats on Clinching - Who are they?

Yeah. But Foreman was strong like hell in the clinch, he survived to scary moments against lyle cause his strong clinch

 

I agree, Foreman was freakish strong. On the other hand, he didn't do nearly as well against Ali in clinches. He was naturally gifted but he lacked technique of Johnson.

If we talk about sheer strength combined with technique then Jeffries is strong candidate. He was well known for his grappling ability and few fighters were as powerful as him.

 

Hector clinched when he rose up in weight because he lost his ability to fight that well.

 

Lewis constantly clinched v Tyson in the first two rounds v Mike in that bout, so much so he was given two warnings by Mills Lane. Holy clinched Tyson whenever he got inside in their first clash.

 

Holyfield in Tyson 1 is good..

And he did a lot of that after the Rosario fight.

 

Holmes was another guy with the ability to tie up a guy when he wanted. Monzon was another like that--whenever he wanted to, he did

 

For me, there are no "all-time great clinchers." What kind of a category is that? To me, the correct designation would be "the worst clinchers of all time" or "the biggest stinkers of all time."
