...no, Tyson is fighting Briggs. The fight with Holyfield never entered any serious negotiation stages AFAIK, nor has this 'official' news yet broken anywhere outside Aussie media.
...on TV in Australia, perchance? I believe media in Oz is jumping the gun. There was never anything official about Tyson vs. Holyfield; it all started with a poster made for laughs by a fan that a lot of folks mistook for real, and even some media outlets jumped on it hastily. Briggs himself confirmed that he and Tyson had agreed to fight and that announcement of the finalized deal should be forthcoming soon.
Not Aussie TV... I was watching a program on a European sport channel where was said the fight will happen. Then I searched on google and I found an article of the dailytelegraph (Aussie) published just 5 hours ago that confirmed it.
On TV was said the fight will last 4 or 5 rounds and it will be an exhibition to raise funds for charity.
Ah, pardon my ignorance, it had to be set up as an exhibition from the start. I’ve limited my intake of boxing related news for the time being so as to not feel depressed about the lack of action.
No way once that bell rings that they dance around and trade soft shots without hurtful intent, as you do in an exhibition. Both of these guys want to relive the glory days so badly, and Tyson will no doubt have revenge on his mind.
an exhibition right? Wilder and Fury or Joshua cannot think this is great. Two old guys from the past taking away the spotlight. Mike should not be fighting. He looked terrible against Williams and McBride.
I wouldn't believe anything the Daily Telegraph in Australia tells you in regards to boxing. The writers there DKSAB
Don King should change his catch phrase to 'only in Australia'....lol! Fenech - Nelson 4 on the undercard also
