He wobbled him, had him take a flurry on the ropes with his hands up. You don't do that unless you're hurt, Floyd would usually shoulder roll his way out of that. It wasn't as bad as Mosley (Mosley landed a big one) and chop chop, but he was definitely hurt. In fact, his reaction to getting tag by Mosley was the same, just cover up.

Floyd just has insane recovery powers, if you don't khtfo, you better finish him in the next 5 seconds or it'll be like nothing happened in the next 10.

Probably because you can't see Pac's punches coming, so it's a much bigger risk to just walk him down. He can see Mosley's haymakers from a mile away, so he just walked him down.

I don't recall him saying Pac was the hardest hit, I'm pretty sure it's Mosley. If he did say that, he was probably just being complementary to his biggest rival, something fighters tend to do as they get older and the rivalry has settled, especially when they came out on top of that rivalry.

Pac is part to blame for losing that rivalry. He should have fought him sooner, took the tests (although they were both at fault) because he was gonna lose his prime quicker than Floyd. Floyd will always have his skills, reach and height advantage over Pac. Pac would lose his most important traits with age, stamina and ferocity, so prolonging the fight was to his disadvantage. And him fighting with an injured shoulder, I believe 100% he was injured to an extent, but he's the idiot who went ahead with it. He waited 5 years, he coulda waited 3 more months.

They both robbed us of a fight from 2 peak p4p #1's ATGs. That last time there was a fight of that level was SRL-Duran.

Boxing isn`t about damage, it`s about boxing an opponent out of position using fundamentals.

Maidana too. I forget which of the two fights it was in but it was right at the end of the round

He took it well though and came out the next round completely unaffected.

He did, but he had just had a minute to recover with no follow up attacks to worry about. I don't think Maidana even noticed at the time either.

Not that it matters much, the round is three minutes long and that's that

Boxing is scored on a number of factors, one of which is ring generalship. I mean, any boxing fan knows this.

    As to the punches:
    CompuBox Statistics FMJ Manny
    punches thrown 435 429
    punches landed 148 (34%) 81 (19%)
    jabs thrown 267 193
    jabs landed 67 (25%) 18 (9%)
    power punches thrown 168 236
    power punches landed 81 (48%) 63 (27%)

Manny didn't cause much damage (and vice versa as well). I remember one particular straight left counter from him of note that got Floyd's attention and make him back up for a second.

Look, I will repeat - I am a big Manny fan. I was desperate for him to beat Floyd and really bust him up. It would have been one of my favourite ever boxing moments had it happened. But I'm also able to be fair and frank, and I know what I saw. It was competitive, but Floyd was just too technically good ultimately.

I think the Manny of old during the Cotto era could have stood a much better chance. But we will never know how that could have played .ot.

    Indeed.
@DirtyOldTown do you accept now that no punch really landed and he was just nudged off balance a little?

I think Floyd says Chop Chop Corley hurt him most. Floyd was certainly hurt there
The only other times I've seen him definitely hurt or staggered are Mosley and Maidana.

Maidana gave him a very tough 1st fight (draw in my opinion), Floyd adapted well for the rematch though.
