Mercer. Lennox was still world class when they fought. Evander was shot to pieces when James stopped him. Although if this fantasy matchup were ever to come to fruition, NOBODY gets knocked out.

Mercer decision. He'd walk through Toney's punches and outwork him. Holyfield was shot ro sh%t when he lost to Toney.

Of course this is predicated on Mercer being in shape and motivated which he was for Lewis.

we never saw the best version of toney at heavyweight. when he moved up he was 35 years old and less dedicated than in his prime.

you are not too familiar with Mercer, are not you? he was never a busy fighter. And he was in top shape for Lewis either.

What makes you confident Mercer wasn't in top shape for Lewis? Because he had a small spare tire? The top guy at heavyweight right now (by general consensus) looks like a shaved, slightly underfed manatee, and his closest rival looks like a bodybuilder.

The way he looked physically and the little preparation time for the fight.Ray fought in spurts.Had he been in better shape, he would have pulled out the win

I’ve got Toney. Just look at the types of fighters Mercer struggled with.

Busier rhan Toney. And he may not been at his dittest against Lswis but hs was able to hang with Lswis in a very close contest. He was in way bwttwr shape rhan when he fassed against Ferguson in thsir first fight.

Of course I am familiar with Mercer. I saw all hhis prime fights.

He was inconsistent but fought well against Lewis.

The only thing that Mercer has going for him is a tough chin and good punch output late in the fight. Other than that Toney has the IQ, equal chin, speed, and is just a better overall fighter. Only problem with him is he didn't fight 3 minutes of every round.

The heavyweight division was going downhill in the 2000's. Made it easier for Toney to compete.
