It would be interesting to see how Foreman would fight against a fighter so big. He would have a hard time reaching Valuev's head and he would have a hard time mauling Valuev around like he did Joe Frazier.
Most will pick George Foreman. And in some cases emphatically. I myself would certainly HOPE that he’d beat Nikolay Valuev, but I have doubts about it being an easy win. Foreman wasn’t much quicker on his feet than Nikolay was and suffered from stamina issues in those days. He wouldn’t have the advantage in size or strength to push Nikolay into desired range the way he did with so many of his foes. He’d be grossly outreached as well. Tough assignment
I see Big G struggling for a while with Valuev and getting frustrated with not getting him out quickly. But no big Ali type upset imo here. Foreman s shots, as wild as they come, finally have his man hurt and rocked enough for the ref to stop it.
I see Big George Foreman having a difficult time early against ( Cabezon), Big Head in English. But Foreman will catch Valuev with a big right hand in the exchanges, then he will unleash his whirlwind of blows to end it in round 3.
Nikolai was 7 feet high and weighed over 300lbs so he's a lot bigger than George. He was pretty durable with that bulk so Foreman isn't just going to overpower him or push him around. This bout goes rounds imo. George would likely have a hard time reaching Valuev's head regularly if Nikolai works behind the jab so GF would have to go to the body and weaken him that way. It's not an easy fight even for 1974 Foreman, but he'll have more power, his stamina should be ok in this one and I think George's weight of shot to the body and also head as Nikolay tires would tell in the end. Later rounds stoppage win for George.
valuev is not exactly what you think he is. Have actually a look at one of his fights instead of boxrec
I have. And while he’s slow, limited and just in general terrible, I can see how he’d still be a hard win for the type of fighter Foreman was in 1974 ( albeit a great one )
Foreman by ko3.The lumbering Valuev vs. the prime Foreman's punches? No chance. Otherwise Foreman was better and taller than Chagaev or Haye who beat Valuev.
Foreman would smash Valuev up for however long until the fight is stopped. Valuev would be a bit awkward at best but he doesn't have the ability to stay away from Foreman.
Yeah but styles make fights. David Haye didn't attempt to just punch Valuev out like Foreman would have.
