I think pryor. I admire Crawford's patience and ability to outthink his opponents and time them with counters, but pryor would get in his ass and not let him breathe. Crawford has dog in him though and would put up a fight but I think pryor over taxes his capabilities and forces him to fight at a pace he's not comfortable with.
Could see this going very similar to the Arguello fight too, with Crawford executing his stick and move game plan initially but, with Prior's constant pressure and mauling, brawling style slowly dragging Crawford into his fight. If this is over 12, I give the slight edge to Crawford by UD, if over 15, Prior by SD or very late TKO. Would be a cracking fight and I feel that Crawford would be a little stronger and more fitting the weight than was Arguello.
Crawford is a better counter puncher than Pryor was and Pryor was wide open to counter left hooks, Crawford throws tons of counter hooks.
This match is 50-50. But I don't think Crawford can send Pryor who had a granite chin to the floor. Pryor will keep stressing Crawford from the first bell ring. I doubt Crawford can handle Pryor's constant pressure.
Pryor is brutally overrated, and tbh I'm not even sure if he's the better fighter here. Although I am sure that he's got a distinct style advantage, as his non-stop punching educated pressure would out-hustle Bud. Normally a counter-puncher could capitalize on a frantic pace like Pryor's but that never happened with Pryor and he had the chin to take everything Bud can dish out.
Honestly I don’t see Crawford beating either Chavez, Meldrick Taylor or the great Wilfredo Benitez at 140 pounds. No disrespect in this because these were great fighters. Also no disrespect but I assume everyone knows Pernell Sweet Pea Whittaker beats Bud as well.
