Bonavena stops Morrison inside 15 rounds. Tommy could have Ringo hurt early in the fight, but ne's not winning a decision against Bonavena.

No Bonavena was an avid trainer for the big fights, he had shrewd people behind his strategy, one was to let Frazier punch himself out a la Ali rope a dope. I believe Tommy was the harder puncher and more skills, tough one, could donnybrook down to the record books greats fracas

However Bonavena never knocked out a top ten fighter, I mean a top ten fighter when they enterd the ring, AND BEAT 4 Martin, Chuvalo, Mildenberger and Middleton
his record was 4-7-1 vs the top ten.

With all due respect, I remember Howard Cosell commentating on the television broadcast of the closed circuit fight, he said that Ali looked like he did against Mildenberger in 1966, meaning Ali looked bad. It was a good fight though. They were supposed to meet on May 27 1967, in Tokyo, Japan, but then Ali began his 3 and a half years of enforced idleness imposed by the U. S. Government, as he was found guilty of evading the draft

You are right, Ali floored him for the automatic TKO under New York State rules, in 1970, and Jimmy Ellis did floor Oscar in 1967.
