Horrible match up for Morrison. Larry is a champion with few weaknesses and those who could exploit it had to deal with his durable chin and mental toughness.

For Holmes, a good right hand could find its mark now and then. Morrison didn't have much of a right hand, or defense, or chin or stamina.

I'd expect Holmes to finish the job inside of 8 rounds. Morrison has his puncher's chance, but target practice for Holmes quick jab.

It’s of course not out of the question that Morrison lands a bomb. Even if he does though, Holmes’ heart/recovery were ATG level, and the odds are that Larry weathers the storm regardless.

The most likely outcome is Holmes by mid rounds stoppage. His power is often underrated, and Morrison’s chin was notoriously unreliable. A quick blowout is not out of the question, but it would probably look a bit more like Lewis-Morrison.

A more interesting fight is a real-life match-up in 1992 or 1993 between a green but dangerous Morrison and the old Holmes.

It would be a repeat of Morrison v Lewis .Holmes would zero in on Tommy's face with his jab ,time and time again .By 6 ,Tommy's eye is closed tight and Larry puts him on the deck .The ref saves Tommy from getting killed in the 7 th

I tend to think it will be a fight that is competitive but not close (scoring wise) and that Morrison will have his moments but Holmes would be in control at all times.

Larry Holmes pumps out the left jab, utilizes lateral movement, throws on target combinations to the head of Tommy Duke Morrison, who constantly tries to land his bomb with no success, Larry has taken better bombs from the likes of Earnie Shavers, Ken Norton and Mike Hercules Weaver. Larry stops Duke by TKO 9, as Tommy Morrison marathon night continues on The Late Late Show.

Nothing to add really, Morrison has virtually no chance. Holmes is on a different level.

Holmes would keep the jab on Morrison. Since Larry always moves to his own left, he always moves away from Tommy's hook. When he decides to stop and set his feet, Larry's uppercut will get there before Tommy's hook.
One guy knows how to fight, one doesn't.

Morrison was a top tier pro. I think he can fight. Maybe nit as good as Holmes.
