Wily old Archie Moore, so do you belive he could have beaten merry madcap max, for his heavyweight crown?
Moore of the Nino Valdes fight up against Baer from the Braddock loss.

The version of Baer that lost to Braddock would lose to anybody.

Maybe not anybody but to an experienced older guy that could take advantage of an untrained, over confident fool.. Yes.

Of course, both at their best would be interesting but Max usually wasn't motivated.

No. Archie Moore. Bent over. Fighting out of a crouch. Cross-armed defense. Taking shots. No.

Braddock had a good night. That doesn't mean everyone pulls it off.

Once Baer started unloading, he would've backhanded the hell out of Moore. (LOL)

I would take Moore without even thinking twice. He was far superior to Max. One guy was a complete fighter and the other one was not.

I would take Moore, because he was a powerful, good boxer, very concentrated and intelligent, as well as taking a good haymaker. If Baer took Moore seriously, he might be able to club Archie into submission the way Marciano did, but it seems unlikely. Moore definitely had the tools to make Baer tire out from throwing wild shots. But Baer is tough, so I say Archie by UD in a fight much like the Braddock-Baer fight.

    From which Valdez fight?

From the first Valez fight Moore was still in very good physical condition, so l’d pick him over Baer, but Moore from the second Valdez fight might take a loss against Baer.

As long as it's that Maxie, then probably so....but if it was an "on" Max Baer, then Moore would outfox him as well,...until the roof fell in when an incoming right hand bomb lands from Baer. You all know that as wily and foxy as Moore was, he wasn't a Nicolino Locche or a Benitez or anything like that....a right would land, and if Archie though Yvon Durelle could hit,...

People tend to underestimate Baer because of his lackadaisical approach to the sport, but at his best he was more formidable than he is often given credit for. He had a devastating punch and an iron chin.

Moore, while certainly a far more accomplished fighter career wise, and far better overall in a pound-for-pound sense, would face serious disadvantages in both punching power and punch resistance at HW.

The result of all this would be an early KO for Baer.
