I love the head butt, but I realize why they banned it as it turns the fight into a bloody mess so often.
People already against mma,talk about it being a barbaric non sport,despite the huge amount of skill and technique involved and not allowing and/or getting rid of things like eye gouging, hitting the balls which like headbutting is an ugly side and unnecessary part of fighting which involves no skill or technique. Also as has been mentioned how fights would end prematurely due to cuts,which nobody wants.
