While it's true that Deontay Wilder's resume for a long-reigning champion is poor, Mike Tyson is massively overrated and he beat no great boxers in their prime.

Old Larry Holmes, useless and scared Michael Spinks and Frank Bruno are probably the best on his resume.

All in all, he's not wrong.

I know this, if Wilder sits in the same room as Tyson he 100% wouldn’t dare disrespect him to his face like he does on video from a safe distance.

So how does everyone think that Wilder is dealing with his first crushing, comprehensive defeat ?

Why's that? He'd probably have been more dangerous with Cus still around to keep him on the straight and narrow path.

I bet that 40 year old Holyfield would beat most 25 year old men in a fight.

And Holmes wasn't yet in his prime so wouldn't have been a real threat until 1978-1980.

Tyson’s wins are so so underrated

he destroyed a 48-2, 36 years old holmes who had only lost tight decisions to spinks. Tyson himself was what, 21,22? Wrap your head around someone that age destroying Holmes.

34-0, 30 year old grown man tucker to fully unify at 22. Imagine any heavyweight even attempting that.

Think back to how you were when you were 22. Tyson was unified baddest man on the planet.

throw on undefeated spinks, huge Bruno before jail etc. Just incredible

Lets not bring Holmes, should we ? He was shot to ****. He barely jab, because he didn`t have the speed and most importantly the energy to do it constantly, as he was doing it before. So he couldn`t play on a high pace, and of course a guy like Tyson will destroy him.
Same thing happen with Klitschko. He lost speed and more importantly his cardio getting worst and for that, his pace was becoming way lower, compare to what it was before and he barely throw the jabs and the right hand he was famous for.
It was not he was scared to throw a punches, but he wasn`t have the energy to do it, and he know that he doesn`t have the pace he was use to before, so he needs to throw less in order to not gassed.

But why i bring Klitschko in this discussion ? Because old Klitschko wanted to fight Wilder, be he doesn`t want any of that smoke, yet young Tyson destroy an out of shape Holmes.

So yeah Wilder is a d****** ****, and a guy who resume totally sucks, should not talk about someone else resume.

Mike Tyson is a legend and everyone knew it. He was unstoppable force in his prime and wasn`t scared of anyone and would face anyone.
His prime didn`t last long, not because of age, but because of him not being dedicated and lifestyle. Which should not be used as an excuse.
Its one thing to lose during your reign, because your out of prime, because of age, and a completely other thing to lose, because you are not dedicated, focused and so on.

After Fury beats wilder again, Wilder will either have to fight good fighters to get back in contention or retire. I think Wilder will take the challenge of trying to get back to the top. Whyte, Parker, Ruiz, Dubois, Joshua, Chisora, Usyk plus many more would be good fights for Wilder.
