I would give the ever so slightest edge to Sanders in a blitz but definitely see the possibility of a Cooper-Moorer bouncy castle type fight that sees Sanders gas out after 6 or 7 rounds.
Moorer did not do well vs big punchers. Foreman hardly hit him until the final 2 rounds, and Tua iced him in 1. Sanders with far better speed and range would likely take Moorer out.
I sees a moorer v Cooper type clash. Both men smashing away , not at all in a controlled manner. Its a toss up for me but I'll give the edge in favour of Sanders .I'll go Sanders w RSC 5
I think it's a toss up. They were of very similar quality in my opinion, though Moorer was certainly more consistent and had a higher level of operating later in his career. Sanders of course is the naturally bigger man. Moorer has a better jab and combinations, along with the better uppercut, where as Sander's probably has the single best punch between the two in his own straight left hand. He more or less won fights with just that punch... a nearly one handed fighter that I don't often see criticized for it. He kind of reminded me of early career Pacquiao at times, with the incessant "spamming" of the straight left from the southpaw stance.
The version of Sanders that blitzed Wlad would have destroyed Michael Moorer. Moorer would have been Sander's chew toy.
Moorer was more polished, better technique, better boxer, better jab. and I'd say faster, he may get hurt slightly at some point, but comes back to win later on whilst ahead on the cards anyway
