I thought Ryder won that fight as well... close but he was the deserved winner.

That said - and not wanting to take anything away from Ryder here - I do think Smith went into that fight thinking he was going to walk through Ryder and blow him away.

    Needs to be a rematch.

Callum looks great when he blows a fighter away by KO, otherwise he will get out-boxed at the top level imo.

As Ipitythe said, he is one dimensional because he's in the Gallagher mould.

Personally I think the weight + age/inactivity is destroying his prime years.

It's going to be nearly 2 years since he fought the WBSS final. He's had two fights since and the 'victory' against Ryder which we all know he lost.

He's got decent power, can't deny that. To be fair to him in the Ryder fight, he did look off from his normal self in my opinion, making weight must surely be having an impact now.

He's heading the same route as Kell Brook unfortunately.

Just wish he would move up in weight and challenge himself!

Anyone with Eubank in their name.

Sr avoided the top Americans like the plague and Jr is domestic level at best.

Yea agree he is a big old unit, at LHW he wouldn't at least have to boil down like he is now. It's like Groves, I think he had outgrown SMW and the weight cut took more effect on him as the years went on. His punches started to lose there snap.

Lee McGregor is another who I think lacks snap in his punches due to his weight, can't see him staying at his weight for much longer either.

There's loads of decent fights at Callum at LHW. Fringe level or world level. Given he's ranked number 1 at SMW and has the frame for it, I don't get why we don't hear anything from hearn/Gallagher about having a fight a weight class above.

I know the reason is because they want the golden ticket Canelo fight but there's plenty of other big fights for him if his team want to get them made.

Even if he lost at LHW he can still defend his title at SMW.

agreed m8, I hope Canelo rubbers him tbh.

Why aren't bully joe and Callum calling each other out?.both belt holders.both "undefeated" would be the best win of either's career in truth..get it made ffs.

McGregor lost to wee Kash imo..but yeah he looks abnormally big so a move up may be wise considering he's in his early twenties.

Yea agree about Kash bud, had him winning by about 3 rounds. Great fight, both should and need to be involved in good fights soon on the back of that.

Anthony Joshua's rating by the media, the general public, casual sports fans and a majority of British boxing fans - prior to losing to Ruiz - was grossly inflated.
    Unprecedented.
They were quite sure he couldn't be beat. His "10 year reign" of greatness was accepted as a foregone conclusion. He was virtually the second coming of Jesus Christ .... and Eddie Hearn was heralding his arrival, every word out of Hearn's mouth was The Truth and The Way ..............

Due to his personality being liked by the working man. Physically he wasn't a very good boxer - Billy Graham and Ricky were deluded in thinking he was the best ever.
