Round 5 is one of the best rounds I've seen at HW in years.. great fight, both earned my respect here.. it's worth another watch this one.. hard to believe Wlads 41 here.. his footwork, ring craft & movement were still top notch but I guess as u age the tank depletes quicker.. that round took a lot out of both men..
Win and loss was on a knife's edge for both fighters. The result doesn't mean that much for me, it was a fantastic fight for both of them. What I notice from Joshua's fights against Klitschko and Ruiz is that he spit out his mouthpiece when he was in danger. If it happens once in the fight, the referee won't do anything. But if it happens repeatedly in many fights there should be some warnings issued by the organisations.
Fantastic fight, regardless of the outcome it lived up to the spectacle, honestly thought Wlad was going to finish AJ, he looked completely spent, was surprised Wlad didn’t just unload everything.
bizzare wasn't it? Crying for the straight right hand - the corner stone of his career and he starts winging hooks - can only think he was scared of getting a counter coming his way.
That or an uppercut, which I think he did bother to throw eventually. I get it, his left hook can smoke people but it was visible a mile off
Wlad's timing and accuracy was shot to pieces in that fight from what I saw. He was simply made to look better than what he was, due to Joshua making him look better than he should have. And that's because Joshua is very mediocre himself, lacking natural fighting skills and talent. For me, that was one of Wlad's worst performances in his career. He was absolutely beyond shot!
Joshua was absolutely gassed out and could barely stand, even Wlad from a year younger would have KO'd him. You just have to hit Joshua on the head and he literally gasses out and has nothing left, never seen anything like it, it is absolutely pathetic.
Emanuel steward RIP, would of chewed Wlad up in that corner that night, had he been still around. I can just see the conversation:- "What the **** are you doing Wlad!??? "Throw some damn shots and cominations!?! Dont rely just on the damn hook!" "Hes gone finish him, before he recovers and lets go home, othewise I will shove that USB up your stuck up arse." Or something to that extent....
Joshua is actually quite a good boxer when he's focused. I thought the bodybuilder won the first 4 rounds before the big stiff idiot abandoned his boxing gameplan and started going after Wlad in the 5th. He literally took 6 rounds off, before he went into a roid rage in the 11th. I wouldn't have minded seeing a 240lb Joshua take on Wlad in the rematch, I think he would have won more comfortably against the old Kitschsko. The problem with the Ruiz fight is was still trying to fight with the blob when he was dropped hard. With Klitschko he was in survival mode, and fought very defensive for much of the fight after he was badly hurt.
