Would Amir Khan have been Floyd Mayweather’s toughest fight?

Even with Floyd winding down his career, I think he would've pretty easily stunted Khan's offense. Amir obviously had fast hands but his footwork was terrible and I think that's where Floyd would've greatly taken advantage of positioning and range.

Throw in Khan throwing the same combinations the entire fight and you have Floyd, controlling distance/range and hitting Khan at the end of combinations.

Khan just wasn't a disciplined fighter... whether it was falling in, pulling back with his chin up, dropping his hands, poor footwork, throwing his punches with the same power on every shot, things he could get away with against guys on his level.

Entertaining fighter for sure but man did he make a whole lot of mistakes. Floyd would've easily timed him and Khan didn't have the defense to make it interesting for more than a couple rounds.

 

I can’t disagree with most of what you’ve said. He was heavily flawed. I just think he’d have caused Floyd a few issues with his size, speed and confidence. I think it would have been an exciting fight because he’d have made Floyd fight aggressively.

Put simply, no. Mayweather would most likely have stopped Amir Khan.

Trust me I'm not saying he's a KO artist but come on Amir Khan has worse punch resistance than almost every Floyd opponent since being a welterweight. The ones he is on par with are listed above... and were KO'd.

So I guess the spree you are referring to is the spree of Khan recovering from his KO loss from Danny Garcia by moving to 147 fresh and having fought cupcake Carlos Molina and Julio Diaz (where he was KD'd)?

That is who and when you think Floyd should have fought?
