It has been quite some time since I last saw boxing on a Tuesday on ESPN, but that is what we get tomorrow. Following this lengthy absence of boxing from our lives, we finally have a full card of live fights to watch! I have not seen much discussion though on this site regarding this card. Will you guys be watching? Thoughts? Shakur Stevenson vs. Felix Caraballo, 10 rounds, junior lightweights Jared Anderson vs. Johnnie Langston, 6 rounds, heavyweights Guido Vianello vs. Donald Haynesworth, 6 rounds, heavyweights Robeisy Ramirez vs. Yeuri Andujar, 6 rounds, featherweights Calvin Metcalf vs. Quatavious Cash, 6 rounds, middleweights
Guido and Jared should go for impressive KO - they might not get this attention ever again next 2 years.
For Jared it's a step up and a decent fight in his 4th pro fight. Vianello on the other hand is fighting a guy who got stopped in 3 rounds by Jennings and Zhang, not to mention the fact that he came in at almost 300 pounds. It's just a showcase fight for him and honestly it's the smart thing to to right now, stay active, get a few KOs to get some attention and generate some buzz around you.
Thank you, I also looked it up on my t.v. and found out it was on at 4pm in the west coast, which is earlier than I anticipated.
Man I about to be popcorn'd up with the lights low like this is a Saturday night spectacle. There will be a whole lot more eyes on these fights than your average mid week boxing card, I really hope these fights deliver and are actually competitive and exciting.
I'm curious to see what Jared Anderson and Guido Vianello can do, but it's still too early in either of their careers to assess whether they'll be somebodies or nobodies.
