Dubois straight punches are extremely powerful and accurate. Joyce is as sloppy as ****, easy to hit and not accurate with his own work. Unless Joyce has a McCall or Holyfiend level chin, then he is getting stopped in brutal fashion.
Nothing in life is obvious my friend and if it was would it even be worth knowing or caring about? Just be honest about things instead of cowering behind words and phrases that are intended to deceive. That's all I'm saying. “Philosophy is a battle against the bewitchment of our intelligence by means of language” -- Ludwig Wittgenstein ''No lie is greater than the lie you tell yourself'' -- Serge
This. Joyce is very one dimensional so he just fought more fights the same way. He's certainly tough and powerful and resilient - way more so than anyone Dubois has fought. But i don't think his extra fights gives him any advantage tbh. Dubois by late stoppage.
good fight but I think dubois is the fresher and joyce is too easy to hit. I think the only risk would be dubois gassing (like Haye v Carl Thompson) but he is young and seems to live the life
I used to have Dubois winning this by fairly easy KO but I'm sort of leaning towards Joyce now. Joyce has been mixing it up with much better guys than Dubois ever has, amateur or pro, and I feel like that is going play a big part here some way or another. I'd also like Joyce to win since he is by far the most entertaining boxer in the sport right now and at 35y that train should go as far as possible. Dwyer also picked Joyce and that crazy old codger has been on fire lately.
I'd more lean towards DDD winning via early stoppage and JJJ via late. JJJ really needs to try and not be as reckless as he usually is or he'll get clipped early.
Joyce is too slow..his chin never tested seriously...besides is not a new version of Foreman as some say in this forum. DDD would destroy Joyce in maximum 5 five rounds.
Whoever has the better camp will win and are these guys really training now if they are fighting next month ? The rhythm here has been broken , certain guys won’t be around for each fighter now to get them ready and Im not sure if the younger faster athletic guy DDD benefits more then Joyce the experienced guy but does he even get to train under his own trainer now who’s not in his country ? To many questions that aren’t being addressed to us . I’d still lean slightly for Joyce a watered down camp for both guys just might still favor experience over a little more talent ?
Look for Dubois to box brilliantly for several rounds, landing some telling shots that at times will rattle Joyce. Ultimately DuBois will run into a big Joyce punch, being hurt badly, where Joyce will jump on Dubois and badly KO him.
Dangerous fight for both of them, which is what makes this so intriguing. Dubois' is formidable looking with a ramrod jab, decent hand speed and power. But he's not been tested at this point and only ever had things his own way, he's not really had to face adversity or show us anything other than him plowing forward and putting a beating on his over matched opponent. He could be another David Price rather than another Joshua, I guess in this fight we'll find out. If Dubois is to come out on top I think he'll need to show us something more than we've already seen, because I don't see him able to keep Joyce off him all the time, he'll get pushed back simply due to work rate and Dubois so far hasn't shown us any aptitude for boxing on the back foot. Joyce has been more tested up to this point and because of that has shown us more than Dubois has. Most just see him as a face first swarmer who's relentlessness breaks you down. But I think his movement is underrated, he moves very well for such a big man and his jab, while not the ramrod that Dubois' is, is more versatile and very heavy, he's not half as pretty to watch as Dubois but I do think he's the better pure boxer. Based on what I've seen from both of them I'm favouring Joyce. Dubois will have his moments early but Joyce will move enough and be awkward enough to blunt some of Dubois' offense and keep him in the fight until his sheer work rate, pressure and heavy hands begin to break down Dubois. Joyce stoppage around the 8th.
I'm really looking forward to this fight. It kind of suprises me that it's happening though because I feel like Joyce is just going to destroy Dubois. You do a simple search on Youtube and you can see Joyce hammering away at Usyk, Yoka, Hrgovic, Ustinov, Jennings, Kiladze ... he doesn't have a lot of pro fights but he has so much experience. And he's so physically powerful. Dubois seems like an excellent prospect. But I have no idea why his team is so eager to face Joyce. Maybe they think Joyce is getting older, and now is a good time. I don't know. I just think Joe is going to steamroll Dubois. I hope I'm wrong and it's a good fight. I just can't picture it, though.
Hard fight to predict, but I think Dubois has the better start, maybe even sending Joyce to the canvas, but that Joyce takes control of the fight late and wins a close decision or stops Dubois around the tenth.
