It’ll be held in Townsville QLD AUS April 22nd from what I’ve seen I’m favouring Tim nearly a life time under the tutelage of Kostya, Young Tim Tszyu as a kid didn’t even get holidays he wanted to abandon boxing he’s been worked that hard but had his fire reawakened watching Creed! I’m hyped hate Horn but he’ll be Tszyus first step up in competition!
That date has been postponed. Hopefully they will fight sooner rather than later. If Tszyu can't get past Horn unfortunately he will end up as a glorified punching bag using his name to get the big bucks. If he can, it is hard yet to be certain of his talent. I hope he goes all the way but it's speculation at this point. PS, Kostya had almost 300 amateur fights. Tim has nowhere near that many.
Good Australian domestic fight. I think taking the fight is an unnecessary risk from Junior Tszyu's perspective though. He doesn't have any international amateur or professional experience, apart from several trips overseas last year for sparring. Horn was an Olympian who held a world title. Horn's form has been down but his last start win over Michael Zerafa was epic & will give him a lot of confidence. I'd like to see Junior Tszyu win b/c at this point in their respective careers he's got the most upside. But I think the experience difference will be critical. Particularly if the fight goes ahead in Horn's home state. I think it's a poor decision to match Junior Tszyu with Horndog at this point in his fledgling career. He didn't need the fight & is effectively on ice until it occurs. He would have been better off fighting guys like the New Zealander, Bowyn Morgan, the 2012 Australian Olympian Cameron Hammond or the 2016 Australian Olympian, Daniel Lewis. Then a fight with Zerafa, then Horndog. Instead they're jumping him straight ahead to Horndog.
My thoughts are Tszyu Jnr better be ready for extreme dirty tactics and to know he will likely be battling the referee as well as the fight is going to be in the state of Queensland. I still favour Tszyu to win as he is improving he is still a prospect but I believe he is a much better boxer than Horn. Horn also has a glass jaw and runs out of gas if he can't get his opponent out early by using dirty tactics. Tszyu Jnr throws pretty good straight shots his right hand is quick with good snap and I think after the 5th round he will start landing it more frequently and eventually having a gassed Jeff Horn doing the funky chicken again and forcing a late stoppage. In saying all that a lot rests on the officials chosen I really hope that Team Tszyu insist on a well credentialed international referee who will not tolerate Horn's dirty tactics. Even if paying for a good ref comes out of Tszyu's purse it is a good investment but I have no doubt that Glenn Rushton will insist on some local QLD ref who will look the other way.
I can see your point, it's always dangerous sending the young lion in to fight the experienced king. That being said, he needs to step up at some point. Horn is past his best and there is good money and a name to add to Tim's resume. I personally think it's the right time. If he starts taking a beating his corner need to throw in the towel.
I wonder if that punk Ben Horn will try starting a fight with Tszyu Jnr's grandfather Boris who is a part of team Tszyu.
