Julio Cesar Chavez final record is not 89-0, it is: Boxing record Total fights 115 Wins 107 Wins by KO 86 Losses 6 Draws 2 Excellent record!
Yep. A funny thing happened to the fantastic Edwin Rosario “El Chapo”, he was on his way to all time greatness then he met a peak Chavez. Chavez broke my heart as I was a big fan of El Chapo. I just knew that though Meldrick Taylor’s handspeed would cause problems JCC would get to him because Taylor just had to much Philadelphia toughness in him which would keep him exchanging in the pocket. For every 5-6 punch speedy Taylor combination the 1-2 punch combinations Chavez landed we’re having the decisive effect over the 12 rounds.
Though I respect those who think that Taylor was winning that fight and should have won, I will NEVER agree. The list of injuries Chavez inflicted on him was frightful, and Taylor was never the same man. There has never been a better case made for "effective aggression," and the only thing that Steele did wrong in my opinion was to let that massacre go on for twelve. I usually think that punches landed is the best indicator of a fight, but really, that was two fighters who were clearly not on the same level: like a man fighting a child, really.
I know what you mean. Taylor was ahead technically from a points scoring perspective but clear case of Taylor winning battles but losing the war. Taylor was really good the fastest hands in boxing who beat some really good fighters but JCC was extra special.
Floyd didnt really win 50 fights though did he ?? The Nsac & Vegas boxing officials GAVE him 50 wins He should in all fairness have at least 4 losses & one N/c
Mayweather would be lambasted on this board if he was fighting guys that were 2-15 ten years into his career like JCC was
