I know Hearn had nothing to do with it, really, but he points out that even before the virus, the money would not have been there due to lack of interest. It kind of echoes what I have been saying about it all along: https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...f-interest-could-kill-fury-wilder-iii.645775/ In fact, it is kind of common sense. No one is going to pay good money to see a non-competitive fight. Fury think there is no money in Whyte, but 70% of our community would rather see that fight. https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...fight-wilder-again-or-whyte-no-joshua.650486/ I am going to call it right here: Fury -Wilder III will not happen. It can't. No one will make any money.
If the pandemic delays into 2021 then it will not happen and Fury will move on to Joshua. Whyte will just get screwed again. Oh well.
According to Top Rank and Chris Mannix (who works for DAZN and had nothing to do with the fight) ... Wilder-Fury II generated MORE than 800,000 PPVs (at $80 a piece) in North America ALONE. A matchup that generates nearly $70 million (in just the U.S. and Canada) in TV money ... not counting site fees and all the television rights around the rest of the world ... is going to get a do-over. Particularly now, when people can't wait to watch high-profile fights again. https://www.fightsports.tv/wilder-fury-ii-reportedly-generated-over-800000-ppv-buys/#:~:text=According to to Mike Coppinger, which drew over 1.97 million.
how many ppl who payed for the second fight will pay for the third considering how the second fight displayed ? is there anyone who thinks this fight(the second) needs a rematch(not talking about the contractual obligations) ? im very curious how they will market/sell this fight.
I don't want to see a trilogy fight, I'd rather see Fury v Whyte, if Fury v Joshua isn't next... which it won't be. Wilder won't let it go though, no way.
They all paid the money before watching the fight After seeing Wilder get absolutely bulldozed, some will not be willing to again
Isn't this what Eddie and Barry said about Fury wilder 1 and Fury Wilder 2? oh yes that's right dossers the pair of them. lying slimeballs. Do not listen to them.
We'll see. Because it's going to happen. Barry Hearn is just running down an opposing promotion that generated big box office because there is ZERO interest in the upcoming Joshua-Pulev Matchroom fight. Matchroom is the one with the bad upcoming title fight.
Barry is **** stirring. He may not be able to box, but he's a world class **** stirrer. A lot of the time it's to big up his own fighters or diss his rivals,, but I wouldn't be surprised if this time was just to keep his hand in.
I agree, it will happen I just personally do not think it will capture the publics attention in the same way as the 2nd fight did One sided fights tend to do that
Exactly. They can't handle the attention being on people they don't promote so they come up with the same rubbish every time.
