I hate it when peope go on about a pro losing an amateur figt to make a point that the fighter in question isn`t that good, it`s a completely different ball game usually in the pro ranks. Which world champs lost as amatuer`s to guys that would also beat them as pros?

Miguel Cotto also avenged an amateur loss to Kelson Pinto

Antonio Tarver avenged his amateur loss to Roy Jones twice in the professionals

Joe Frazier tortured Buster Mathis in their New York Heavyweight Title bout after losing to him in the Olympic trials. Joe was a Chatty Kathy that night. He was talking to Buster throughout. It was actually a bit sadistic.
Seeing a smaller guy play the bully role wasn't that common. George Foreman said after viewing that fight that being big meant nothing. He hid in his house for 2 weeks.

I made a mini documentary about this and after studying about 50 rivalries that went from the amateurs to the pro's it seems that in most cases the one who lost as an amateur, won as a pro. An interesting fact is that in recent times it seems like the one who won as an amateur wins as a pro (Conlan vs Nikitin, Beterbiev vs Gvozdyk, Oubalii vs Warren, Vargas vs Kameda).
