“I’m too big. I’m too good. I’ve got too many styles for them. I’m an adapter. They couldn’t ever beat me anyway. So, there we go. I’m the greatest fighter that ever lived”. M.Tyson with have countered Fury`s jab easily, no contest, thoughts on his comments please.

Deep down he believes this. You have to have this level of confidence and arrogance in order to achieve your goals. Confidence goes a LONG way in life. If you dont have it, you are just another competitor.

Look at what Mike Tyson said about himself in his movie trailer that was directed by James Toback

"Mike Tyson - the greatest fighter that God ever created".

    Exactly.

Conversely how strange would it he for any top level competitor to say "I'm ok, average really. My jab isnt the best, I wing my right and my feet a bit slow. Most people could beat me I reckon"

Mike Tyson's best wins are old Larry Holmes, little Michael Spinks and Frank 'punching through treacle' Bruno.

Somehow it always seems to work for a succesful boxer to claim they are the greatest, the best ever, better as anyone that came before etc.
More often than not reality catches up, like with the Wilder bullshirt prior to the Fury fight.

Not the greatest to ever live. But he is an all time great in my opinion
Only argument he can have is the heavyweight division has evolved, and the heavyweights have grown much bigger than in the past. Skill level and greatness does not match with those like Ali, Foreman etc

He's entitled to his opinion but you really should take fury's spiel with a pinch of salt because half of the lies he tells aren't true.

He didn't say anything untrue. None of the ATGs who came before him were equipped to deal with a 6'9'' slick gypsy who is as agile as a giant mongoose, who is as light on his feet as a 120lb ballerina and as elusive as a ghost, and who can fight just as well on the front foot as they can on the back foot, can box equally well as a southpaw stance as they can orthodox, and who has the heart of a lion and knows not the meaning of the word fear.

Wlad, Bootleg D, and David Price are the three hardest punching HWs in decades and three of the hardest of all time and none on them could pass the Slick Gypsy test so we know for a fact that power cannot beat him and everyone knows there isn't a man born from their mother who's getting the better of him in a straight boxing match either.

I'm certain Fury believes he is the best h2h ever. Whether that's true or not is another matter.

That makes me like Ortiz even more. A level of understanding and humbleness about where he is in his progression.

Say what you will, Tyson faced seven current or former World Champions in his first thirty five fights. No heavyweight has come close to that.
