This. Wlad was over 40 years old and had been inactive for two years. The only reason he lasted as long as he did was due to his many years of experience and Joshua’s inexperience. Joshua made enough mistakes for Wlad to make it a competitive fight, but despite that, Wlad still couldn’t fully capitalize, since his age really started showing in the later rounds.
I think Wlad could have won the fight if he'd been a bit less cautious when he had Anthony hurt. But he has said in hindsight that he didn't realize how wobbled AJ was. But no, no dive...the dude was in his forties...had trouble pulling the trigger and got stopped, perhaps a little prematurely, but nothing nefarious or crooked about the result. AJ's best win.
Joshua probably would have made easier work of Wlad had he come down at 240lbs. Says alot about Klitschko that he failed to capitalise, when tubby Ruiz pounded that bodybuilder down in 7 rounds.
You should of had a third option. The ref stopped the fight prematurely. Joshua didn't land a hard shot in the final sequence and was likely gassing out. We were robbed of a fantastic finish.
Wlad was 40 Years old you dosser and Fury still dodged the rematch and that says a lot, in your mind all the ATG's who lost well past their primes were all overrated dossers.
That would of been crazy if that happened that would probably put it up there with Corrales vs Castillo ending.
