I wouldn't go that far....he was a Cleveland Williams level type of contender. Perhaps somewhat better
You....not high on Max Baer????? Don't tell me you're high on that Jamaican guy....whats his name....something something Lewis???
LOL. This thread was done before, iirc. 3 years ago or so. It went into some detail and I remember posting a bunch of clips showing Morrison's combination punching and slipping skills. He was actually a fairly high level operator. Baer is one of those guys that was blessed with a tremendous rugged physicality, and he knew how to exploit it. But, his skills were sloppy, like, arguably worse than Wilder. To my mind Baer's best bet is to force a firefight. Tommy is likely to land first and better but Baer is likely to be able to take the punches better and to weather the storm better. It's then a matter of opinion as to whether Baer or Tommy crumbles first. IMHO it's Morrison's fight to lose. If he uses his feet and counters Baer, I think he wins. Would have been a fun fight to see.
I wouldn’t go that far. He went 1-1-1 with Terrel and Machen during his prime years. Morrison was struggling with Hipp and Purrity and of course got iced by Mercer and tko’d by Bentt. Foreman was very beatable in the mid 90s and Ruddock was rusty/poorly conditioned and was about 50-50 to win that fight if the incorrect stoppage hadn’t occurred.
1234 Hi, this is Lennox Lewis. Undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. Just like Kweli and Hi Tek seen, run things required. Big up
