It's true, but Baer was very lean at 220 lbs. He was built a bit differently (large chest and slim belly) but he was comparably huge overall.

Haven't seen much of Baer tbh, but are there any examples of him cutting off the ring like Foreman did?

And from the things I've seen he hasn't looked as destructive to me, like someone who could do to Chuvalo and Frazier what Foreman did.

Baer fought a lot more on backfoot than Foreman.
I'm not sure, he beat up Galento badly and stopped durable Comiskey in one round. His filmed performance against King Levinsky also looks quite destructive. Not to mention what he did to Foord and Schmeling. Keep in mind that a lot of his best KOs are not available unfortunately.

As I said, Baer had longer reach and looked lean at the same weight Foreman fought. The difference is negligible.

You're just saying that because he's more modern.

I'll go a step further than that. And farther. Max Baer would have beaten Ali. Ali lost to guys like Frazier and Kenny Norton. Much love to them, but by that time...they didn't make 'em like Maxie Baer anymore. The kinds of men, with that grit and spit that Joe Louis had to fight? Ali never had to contend with men like that. Closest he came was maybe Archie Moore, I think but he was about fifty then. My God, still took Ali multiple rounds to put him out on that night. Just goes to show you how much difference there is in the toughness of men from different eras before more automation took place in the job place.

Well, that and the testosterone drop from the use of plastics, as the decades have gone on, up to now.

Hi there,Charlietf. I said "QUITE a bit" which indicates a signifigant difference. '74 Ali wins nearly every round against Earnie.
