Nothing but fireworks. I would take Hearns in a shootout, simular to Hearns vs Roldan.

I actually don't favor Hearns in a shootout, esp. not with a big guy like Mugabi. Mugabi did get stopped real quick by Norris and McClellan, but I think Mugabi by mid-round knockout. Hearns could hit, but Mugabi is a bomber, and I think if he hurt Hearns, I don't think Hearns could tie Mugabi up and control him like he wanted to. Trouble for the Hitman.

I tend to agree with this. Mugabi was a serious, serious puncher and could take a shot in turn. Hearns would be best advised to run like a scalded cat and use his skills and reach to outbox him. A shootout could end up like Hearns vs Hagler. It's Hearns' fight to lose, because he could both box and brawl.

Hearns fights cautiously before realising how quickly he can crush Mugabi. After he realizes, it's over.

    Hearns in 4/5.

Ok, I can see that happening. I remember how he chopped down wild brawlers like Juan Roldan and Dennis Andries.

Before the Hagler fight he could take a shot, after the Hagler fight he wasn't the same. The Mugabi that fought Hagler was a Absalute beast. Hearns against that Mugabi would be a 50/50 fight. Hearns would try to box Mugabi but Mugabi would track him down.Hearn would try to keep the Wild swinging Mugabi off of him with his big right hands. That's when the shoot out would happen. Hagler took longer to KO common apponents, Duran went the full 15 rounds, Roldan was giving Hagler a real tough fight before getting thumbed, wore down and stopped in 10 rounds. Hearns stopped Duran in 2 rounds and stopped Roldan in a 4 round shoot out, none stop action, edge of your seat stuff, ultimately leaving Roldan flat on his face. Hearns tried to box Roldan also, but was forced into a shoot out.i think there is a good chance it would end like the Roldan fight. I saw both fights on ppv live, Hearns/ Roldan, and Hagler /Mugabi. I was a huge Hearns fan and Hearns was fighting for the unprecedented 4th world title, and I was very nervous for Hearns because Juan Domingo Roldan was similar to Mugabi.

Right. Mugabi paid the price for giving Hagler his toughest fight. Courage alone used up the Beast.

The beast was 26 -0 (26) by KO. Before the fight. He wasnt really tested. I think he had a hard time against James "hard rock" Green, a fringe contender type. The fight was supposed to be fun while it lasted, but Mugabi gave Hagler all he could handle.

I would favor the Hitman. But he’d have to be very careful. A slug fest with Mugabi could land him on the canvas if things don’t go his way
