Who should Usyk fight at Heavyweight? I wonder if he will put on weight at all, my concern is he doesn't hit hard enough to beat the top dogs such as Fury, Wilder, Ruiz (when trained) AJ. I get he wants to test him self but I don't think he has a chance to beat any of them imo. I would like to see him and AJ in the future but for his first fight at HW he should fight Parker first. If he beats him then Ortiz or Whyte imo. I think those are pretty tough fights but i'm excited to see him fight at HW!

Yes he’s fighting Joshua after pulev, his ko% is similar to Holyfield’s at cruiserweight, so who knows if his power fairs well as well as his when he moves up. Holyfield started his career at light heavyweight and he was still hurting super heavyweights so I’m looking forward to see how Usyk does against Joshua

    Regarding weight.

at the weigh-in for his one HW fight he was 15lbs above the cruiser limit.

during the fight he did look I suppose about 15lbs heavier than he had done back in the day, having by the looks of things, put on a modest amount each of extra fat and muscle. there'd for that fight been no [late career] Holyfield style piling on of huge amounts of lean bulk. maybe that's something he's planning to do further down the line, though at his age i shouldn't think it'd be possible without following Mr Fields' approach to the full range of avaliable supplements.

but really, it's a bit of a puzzle, with 24 hr weigh-ins, i'd have expected him in his cruiser days to have anyway been entering the ring, hydrated, c15lbs above the cruiser limit, meaning that an extra 15lbs of weight on top of his hydrated cruiser size would have put him a total of 30lbs over the cruiser limit at a HW weigh-in.

i suppose the only conclusion is that, in his cruiser days, he wasn't dehydrating for the weigh-ins, and was indeed a fully natural cruiser [i.e. a smallish guy by modern cruiser standards], raising the possibility i guess that he could have starved/dehydrated himself pretty close to the LHW limit if he'd really tried.

The hype Usyk is getting reminds me of Haye when he was about to move up. He was gonna KO Wlad, Vitali, Povetkin and Chageav too. This weed Usyk will be sent packing down to cruiserweight when these obese behemoths tee off on him.

I would like to see Usyk against any of the top ten heavyweights. It's very interesting to me because he has more talent than most of them although he lacks their size. I have doubts about Usyk at heavy, but he might be able to make some of them look silly.

So? What’s makes you think Usyk isn’t gonna roid up, the heavyweights now are huge, im sure he’s gonna take some ped’s if he really wants to compete with them

Out of curiosity, what are these guys taking that allows them to pass all tests? Do we have another 'Balco' around?

I don’t know for sure but I think they take small doses to they can get clean in time for the test. I think miller got caught because he likely takes really high doses of steroids

Can see that. Just that the whole Balco scandal seemed to paint a picture of rampant RED usage throughout sports. Which it did. But moreso at the time. I don't know of any 'clear' or 'cream' that anyone uses anymore. But I guess that's how they want it, if true. Anyway, was just curious. Thanks!

I can't remember which fight, I want to say Briedis, but Usyk was 207 lbs. He was definitely cutting weight, but not a ton. I would expect him to be around 215 or 220 at Heavyweight. He's a muscular guy who you can tell puts on some fat when he's not in camp. I would guess he hovers around 230-240 then diets down to 220. Obviously at Cruiserweight he was getting much lower.

Usyk vs Wilder should be a great match-up fight.
