You do realise that the Steve Cunningham fight is hardly representative of how Tyson Fury would approach a Muhammad Ali bout? It's laughable. For a start, Tyson Fury was nowhere near the finished article by then (and still perhaps isn't) and he approached the bout in a reckless way (perhaps due to his uncle and trainer not being present). People who dislike Tyson Fury like to ignore this, but he's the type of athlete whose level is raised (or lowered) depending on the opponent.
I appreciate the excuse you are making for the poor performance against Cunningham and what you are saying, that’s why I also mentioned the Klitschko fight and the lack of volume punching when he wasn’t being reckless, and the second wilder fight when using the added weight and kronk style, his prime, that’s 3 styles fury has used and personally because of the reasons given earlier in my first post I don’t think any of them will do him any good against Ali. Ps I don’t dislike fury he is definitely the best heavyweight out there at the moment,
Fury moves better than Ali? Jesus. Let's compare resumes shall we? Before getting carried away on the gypsy caravan train. Fury - 40 year old Klit, Old Wilder, Derick Chisora x 2...it's getting difficult now, John Mcdermott x 2.. Ali - Foreman, Lyle, Frazier x 2, Patterson, Liston x 2, Chuvalo, Moore, Spinks, Norton x 2, Young, Foster, Bonavena. Olympic gold medal, multiple national and golden gloves titles. The best resume easily of any heavyweight ever. Prime for prime you say? Ali did all of this, while missing several years of his Prime, perhaps we didn't even see him in his prime, age 25 - 28, it's very likely. People forget just how good he was in the 60's. I seriously cannot fathom how many of you are certain Fury would beat Ali. Literally, because he's bigger and hasn't lost yet? It really is all about the '0' on here.
I think Ali vs Fury is a tricky match up for sure. No one really knows who beats who let's face it... But there is a huge size and reach difference... But then again Alis footwork was lightning quick and upper body movement was pretty epic. Alis resume is clearly by far better than Furys not even a question.. But there are many questionable wins.. Liston.. Clearly good but was he late 30s and dodgy outcomes ? Possibly. Patterson, shot. Williams, shot.. Literally. Moore, past it. Cooper, cmon was he even that good?! Arguably lost 2 out of 3 Norton fights. Also, we were robbed of Ali-Foreman 2.
