Both started out at Middle, both won a HW belt around the same time (that's insane)

Who had the better victories to HW from MW?

    In HW Toney.
He also beat Ruiz, even though he got DQed afterwards.
He beat old Holyfield and had a draw with Rahman.
He also beat Guinn and had 2 close fights with Peter.

Unquestionably Roy. Looking at their common opponents; I see two major points in favour of Roy. Griffin gave both trouble, and has official win over both. However Jones took his head off in the rematch, whereas Toney looked as lackluster as before. The other is Reggie Johnson, who arguably beat Toney but couldn't win a round vs Jones.

Then he obviously beat B-Hop, whilst green, was the #1 contender to Toney himself and whilst these two were going up in weights would have his long ass title reign. Plus the Toney, which is the biggest reason why he wins this clearly.

James' list is awesome too, though. Stopping Nunn cannot be underplayed, and neither can his wins over Jirov, Littles and Barkley. The first McCallum fight should definitely be a win. Roy never looked as bad as James did vs Tiberi though.

Jones Jr is unquestionably better and greater from 175 and below.

But Toney's run at CW and HW is legendary.

From 99 to 2009 (after suffering 3 losses at LHW) he proved he could beat everyone he fought.

This includes the following : Washington, Montana, Jirov, Holyfield, Ruiz, Guinn, Rahman, Peter and Oquendo.

For a former MW to have that kind of consistency is great.

He'd have beaten Jones at HW as well. Jones spent 2004 and 2005 losing to everyone he fought. Toney spent it defying the odds.

But then again you have the PED issue. He always maintained it was a shoulder injury, but who knows.

Rjj had the better run and wins from middle to heavy.... I wished Roy had stopped fighting after the first Tarver fight. Just think if he had called it a day after winning the HW title
Dropping back down beating Tarver even though he struggled and said you k ow what I’m done my legs are starting to go etc etc ..... he would have only had one blemish in his record the one to Griffin which he corrected emphatically 49-1. The history books would be looking at him a lot differently then the guy who used to be RJJ but he stuck around too long.
