There was never any "El" in Zapata's nickname to begin with, so I looked like a fool that whole time.

The difference between 3 and 8 is enormous when talking about weight classes. 3 to 8 is worlds apart. You can poke holes in the accomplishment but it's still greatly impressive.

I wasn´t exactly comparing Broner to Manny. I was highlighting how someone like Broner was able to snatch up 3 without having to face the best.
Hell, nowadays people accept the WBA regular belt, so that makes Broner a 4 division champ. Rober Guerrero brags about being a 4 division champ.

Somewhere down the line, someone as talented Manny will come along and make it happen.

Agreed. I doubt they'll even need to be that talented. The powers that be are closer to recognizing the IBO as a legit title than they are to doing what everyone wants and consolidating the damn belts. Hell, they'll probably thrown in another 2 or 3 weight classes while they're at it. That way we can have 100 champions. Like a goddamn participation trophy.

Kosei Tanaka just recently did it in 12 fights. His run was definitely less impressive, but shows that someone could possibly pull it off.
The Japanese like to win titles asap. Got to love them for it.

Man, hard to believe that Loma has had only 15 pro bouts. And at his current pace, seems like he will barely make it past 20 by the time he retires.
