Throw Ramon Arias in there, too. Perez has better names at the top than guys like Khaosai and Lopez, but it's startling how bad the majority of his opposition was. Only about 15% of his fights were against fighters with a pulse. To be fair, he showed his class in those. I'd like to read an in depth piece on his career.
Yeah, you should look at whoever you like. The ranked guys he beat were Sadoa Yaoita (1), Dommy Ursua (5), Ramon Arias (1), Young Martin (2), Dai Dower (2), Oscar Suarez (7), Espinosa (2), Danny Kid (3), Yoshio Shirai (ch.).
Oliver Platt is a pretty fair character actor but doesn’t crack my top 15. Robert Mitchum, on the other hand, is worthy of consideration.
I've lost count of how many edits I've done now. I'm altering my lists systematically now to make sure they're an actual portrayal of my view of the sport and its history.
@Rumsfeld — Mine is all filled out (page 10) but subject to change as I’m sure I’ll tinker up to the deadline.
I revised mine a bit too. Added Pacquiao to the p4p list at 23, and moved Olivares and Monzon down a notch. Roy Jones was bumped.
I'm telling you now - any submissions that include boxers who never competed professionally will NOT be included in the final tallies. I appreciate the effort, but as it stands I will not include it. If you'd still like it to be included I kindly ask that you edit your post and please adhere to the rules.
@Saintpat @Jester @salsanchezfan (and everyone else who has provided lists) Feel free to edit as little or as often as you'd like between now and the deadline. I'm not going to be inputting any data until the moment I temporarily close the thread. (Although I'm happy to say a lot of the artwork is already done).
You have these comprehension issues often. The person making the thread has clearly articulated what you need to do to have your submission count. There's no longer any ambiguity. Delete any fighters who never competed professionally or it isn't valid.
