What I asked was how many divisions do you believe Jones beat the best fighter in there?

If they were the same size Manny would spark Roid out cold. Roid never fought any legitimate bangers or anyone who held a speed advantage over him and prime Manny possessed both blinding hand speed and legit KO power. There's simply no way in hell that Roid is remaining vertical after Manny lands that vicious southpaw left on him and deep down you all know that.

The green version B-Hop who fought Roid was going life and death and getting bounced up and down off the canvas like a yo-yo by useless Ecuadorian street vendors and had never fought anyone world class before amateur or pro, whereas Roid had been mixing with world class fighters and future champions since the amateurs. B-Hop's amateur experience consisted of him fighting crude unskilled cavemen brawlers in Graterford Prison and he would go on to improve immeasurably after facing Roid.

The version of Toney who fought Roid needed gifts from the judges to to get by Dave Tiberi. People cite him being weight drained against Tiberi but he clearly had far more life and energy in him for that fight than he did for Roid and he actually fought at 160 again in his very next fight after Tiberi whereas he hightailed from 168 faster than an Amir Khan combination after the Roid fight never to return again. In fact, in every single one of his subsequent fights at 175 bar one he weighed in bang on the division limit of 175.

What performance made you believe Hopkins was the best MW in the world.

The fight with Jones. No other Middle at that time would be taking more rounds off him.

    Wait.

    Let me get this right.

    In my head.

    All logical and what not.

Your argument for Hopkins being the best MW at the time Jones beat him, is because Jones only beat him 8-4 and you think no one else would win 4 rounds off Jones?

Do you think anyone then would've done better?

He was weight drained against Tiberi because he cut a lot of weight over 4 weeks, not because he had outgrown the division. He was later on rushed to hospital, after the fight, suffering from severe dehydration.

He was also in better shape for the Jones fight than he was for the Tiberi fght. Looked to me like he was ready to pass out during the first around against Tiberi. A fighter he really had no business struggling with, which is why he offered Tiberi a immediate rematch which Tiberi declined.

I disagree. Im sure guys like Reggie Johnson and McClellan would of done better than Hopkins did in that fight

Johnson might have done as well, but not better. I've always thought Jones would've made a buffoon out of McClellan.

Reggie Johnson back then was the real deal. He was a better fighter than Hopkins was at that point in time. He lost a close decision to Toney. Hopkins struggled greatly with a club fighter called Baptist before he fought Jones and would struggle greatly against Mercado

I can't see Jones beating McClellan easily either. McClellan was still trained by Manny at that point and we have no idea how Jones would of coped with McClellan power.

This would have been better with a poll. Anyway, Pac is my answer.
