Bouttier was a regional fighter who fought almost exclusively in France, very few recognisable names on his resume. Benn had many more fights against a higher level of competition.
He was the European Middleweight Champion, maybe you do not recognize his opponents because you were not even born yet, not every fighter has to be on You Tube. It is like I do not recognize too many fighters on Benn's record because I do not pay attention to the fighters he met.
I do recognize the fighters on his record: Nessim Max Cohen, Tom Bethea, Joe DeNucci, Stanley Hayward, and the immortal Griffith. They were good fighters, but with the exception of Griffith, let's face it, they're not world beaters. I've read up on them what I can, but you guys from back in the day are just at a clear advantage in this area.
Mike Watson, a very good fighter, stopped Nigel at 160. If Mike could do it, most definitely Carlos would. I like Rodrigo Valdez to stop Nigel as well.
You got a better chance of Tony Ayala winning a humanitarian award than of Nigel Benn beating Monzon.
I hate to burst your bubble but a guy who got destroyed by Michael Watson has zero chance of beating Carlos Monzon! In fact Monzon would beat both Benn and watson on the same night breaking little sweat. And BTW, Briscoe and Valdez were bigger punchers than Benn.
Neither did Nigel Benn. Is'nt Watson that guy that Alexander Graham Bell talked to on the phone when he invented the phone? Ha Ha.
